This is all my food for today not counting dinner. 26 points worth.

This is all my food for today not counting dinner. 26 points worth.

I just thought that you guys might be interested in actually see what a normal days worth of food might look like.  This is all the food that I bring to work and this is very typical of what I eat on a daily basis.  Leave a comment on what you think about it.  Any critique of it?  Any suggestions?

Looks very appetizing Jason. I prefer some banana cream yogurt and then I slice up the banana and add it to the yogurt to make a delicious desert. Plus could you leave out one oatmeal packet and then substitute some salsa and add that to the pasta. Then again maybe you like it plain and hate salsa. It is a matter of what your tastes are. It does look good though.
Just my little input here, you asked. 😉

What a fun idea, to take a picture of your day’s worth of food. I think I may do that, too. I’m adding you to my blogroll and looking forward to reading your blog! I am already feeling inspired by the little bit that I have read. (Thanks!)

do you eat dinner at home, or does this include dinner? I don’t see any veggies there . . . that’s my only comment 🙂 but nice job on the fruit!

You know what, on my way to work I realized that I had forgotte my carrots in the rush to get out. Usually I eat carrots and maybe one more veggie. When I get home I load up with the veggies big time for dinner. That is when I really go for it with veggies. Nice observation and thanks for the reminder.

Hey, popcorn. Isn’t corn a veggie :). There is also about 4 1 mil. squares of tomatos in the frozen dinner 🙂 Thanks for the help

I’ve been on a popcorn kick lately, such a light, crunchy, yummy snack! I’m also a big fan of Lean Cuisines, I think they taste better than all the other frozen meals out there. However, if the WW ones are on sale, I’ll usually go for those.

Hey! I just thought of a question for you. Do you keep track of your sodium intake? Sometimes when I tell people about my Lean Cuisines or soups, they react, “but what about the sodium?!” I know it’s important to keep it at a normal level, but on days when I have soup or a LC, I just drink more water to “offset” it. Do you think that’s effective?

I never ever worry about the sodium. I do think that drinking water helps. I tried to get it into the pic but I drink at least 1 gallon a day of pure water. I don’t think of it to much and I love the frozen dinners because it is just one more thing I don’t have to “plan” for on my weekly menu.

Do you deduct points for physical activity? I know I need to start working out…ugh!

The way the WW plan is now is that the activity points add up and are not used util you eat all of your 35 weekly extras. I do eat more on the days that I run a lot though. My WW week is monday – Sunday so on Sunday I have all of those activity points left over and I eat out or eat more other stuff. I did not do this when I was trying to lose though.

Yes I do. I eat every 1.5-2 hours for sure and I never miss. The only longer span I have is from 2:30 pm ( my last at work eating session) to my dinner time. Also while I sleep. This is important to keep you metabolism up and trick you body into thinking that is not even close to starving, even if you are eating low cal. I have in the past also eaten a bit lower points for 2 days (at this point the body is saying, wait a minute. Am I starving) and on the 3rd day I eat extra and the body thinks all is good. This is a good tactic that I learned from burn the fat feed the muscle

A totally neat idea for a post! I notice that you’ve got instant oatmeal: I find that the plain buy-in-bulk oatmeal fills me up for longer. I have a little measuring scoop and 2 scoops of oatmeal and 4 scoopfuls of water microwaved for 1.5 mins makes a super quick and filing breakfast! I add sultanas, banana, a teaspoon of demerera sugar or honey when I feel like mixing it up. I do have the instants on standby in my desk at work though – for those mornings I’m running late.

How many points for the calculator? 🙂

Looks good. I tend to eat every couple hours too. I would need a bit of chocolate in that mix.

I usually eat my yogurt with fresh fruit (except in the winter) and fiber one. It tends to last longer.

    You should be very proud.

Well, it looks pretty darn good to me. …Well rounded. 🙂 That’s a good idea about eating less a couple days and making up for it on the third. I bet every now and then it’s good to “trick” ourselves. That reminded me of something. A few years ago, I heard about the Wendy plan -which was a different way to do WW. I read about it on the WW boards. Basically, you would eat the same amount of WW points as you normally would on a whole, but you would mix it up. …Like what you were talking about. Maybe have lower points some days and higher points other days, so your body couldn’t get use to the same old thing. 🙂 I never tried it, but it would probably work.

I bet it would work great. I am apt to stick to the plan like normal, but I also know from experience that the method you are talking about and the one I mentioned does work.
