Favorite idea contest vote is now closed!! Sorry:).

Contest TimeOk guys, this is the post where you submit your vote for your favorite contest idea.  The person who submitted the contest idea that gets the most votes will win the writing journal.  It has been fun to recieve your ideas and they are all uniquely interesting.  Don’t forget to vote on your favorite idea.  You can see the results for yourself by going to check out the voting poll at the bottom of the post.

Here are all the ideas that have come in for this contest:

  1. You get this great big jar like a sun tea jar and you fill it with KETTLES POTATO CHIPS and then you put it on as a virtual jar and let it float around where everyone can count how many is in there and whoever guesses the closest wins.(Donna)
  2. I think it should be a jar of M&M (peanut of course). Everyone can count how many is in there and whoever guesses the closest wins. If I win I’ll share with you Jason!!!!!! (My mom)
  3. you could have people write essays about how they are helping others through their weight loss, how someone else has helped them, what charities they have done races for, etc. etc. You could keep it short by telling them they have to write it in 250 words or less or whatever number you pick.  (mommymeepa)
  4. I love to write haikus. you could have a fitness haiku contest. A haiku is a poem that has 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the last. They do not have to rhyme. For example:Jason has lost weight
He was a very big boy
    Now he inspires  (mommymeepa)
  5. We could nominate other bloggers for who is the most inspiring and why. The person nominated would actually be the winner.(Sarahlovesfood)
  6. So how about a “Heart and Soul” contest? It could be a two part contest. The “heart” part would be about physical health. Either calculated in pounds lost (percentage of weight lost) or hours of exercise accomplished (something like that). The “soul” part could be some sort of community service project or time spent serving your local church. Some of the details would need to be fleshed out — but I like the idea of improving ourselves physically and spritually. Might be too hard to quantify — but worth some thought. (Jennileigh)
  7. Type of contest…hmmmm…not sure about this one. Maybe total calories burned through exercise for a specific number of days/weeks? (Jennileigh)
  8. How about a contest of who can stay away and not eat any Kettle Chips -) HA HA. or any other vises that one has. For me it’s peanut butter. (Robfitness)
  9. As for the challenge… how about a treadmill challenge? Like having to do so many miles… like doing 5 or 10 miles. You can even say they have to post a picture of the face of the treadmill on their blog to prove it! Then you can even put everyones name who posted a pic into a bag and then randomly draw a winner.  (Tigerlilly).
  10. Great idea. You could just have a random contest – more like a giveaway. I know that Roni (you know Roni right?) has some techy gizmo for her contests – she gets everyone who wants to enter to leave a comment on a post, then generates a random number and the comment that corresponds to that number gets the prize. Please please make it an international contest though! (Geri)
  11. How about submitting a pic with a short description: “Why I felt amazing here.” It could be a way to focus on times when we FELT great regardless of size/appearance. (Fitforfree)
  12. “Guess the Kettle chips” idea is hilarious. Only I think the contest should be that the jar (or bag) is on the counter in Jason’s kitchen, and we’ll take guesses at how many days it will take him to tear into them! Mwa ha ha ha….(Angela)
  13. How about we document the number of minutes we do of exercising a day to you and at the end of the contest who ever has the most time of exercising in, wins. Because exercising is a vital part of leading a healthy lifestyle.
  14. My suggestion is that you do a post on journaling.  Then all of your commenters can add their own journaling (or lack of) experiences and the winner can be drawn randomly from all of those who comment. That way it’s short and simple and fair.
  15. My idea actually came from one of your posts. I really liked the tilapia with veggies and potates you put together that was low points, large portion. I do best when I have large portions even if its mostly veggies. Just works best for me. I think the contest should be creating a low point, filling and visually appetizing meal. People can get really creative and each meal idea has to have a picture with it. I LOVE to cook and finding creative substitutions can sometimes be wearisome. It would be fun to see how creative people will be plus it will give your readers good ideas to ward off the boredom that comes with watching EVERY LITTLE THING THAT GOES INTO OUR MOUTHS. Sorry, its been a long day. Hope people will like this!

At the risk of getting in trouble for not following the rules (kind of a problem of mine), I wish to cast two votes. I vote for #3, with #15 as runner-up. (Maybe the second place idea can be your next contest.)

Lots of good ideas. Well except for the M&M’s – that one is pure evil (sorry, Jason’s Mom).

Okay, there were some great ideas. My vote is for No. 14 since it’s connected to the journal you are giving away. I also like that it would encourage others to participate and have equal chance of winning.

I have to pick a favorite?

    Ok then #11

with #4 and #8 (maybe it would encourage me to give up my diet pop addiction) receiving honorable mention.

I cannot decide between two of them.

So I vote for both #3 and #4 equally.
