Win a run4change T-shirt. Why I felt amazing here, contest!!!

eye-001Contest Time

So many of you mentioned that you loved one of the most popular posts here at run4change.  Some of you thought that the post theme would make a great T-shirt.  Then, one of you mentioned that the cool T-shirt should be the prize for the winner of a contest held here at the blog.  So I did a contest to see who could come up with a great contest idea and you all voted on the one that you thought I should use for this contest.  Here is the idea that you voted for me to use for this T-shirt contest:

How about submitting a pic with a short description: “Why I felt amazing here.” It could be a way to focus on times when we FELT great regardless of size/appearance.

You loved the idea and so did I.  So now it is time for the contest.  Read on to find out how you can participate and win a run4change T-shirt (I will be getting the shirt made after the contest is over so I know what sizes to get).

Here are the contest details:

What is the contest about:  This contest will focus on the positive side of life.  The purpose of it will be to renew our commitment to total life improvement and happiness.  We are all on the journey to lose weight but we want to have a well rounded good life.  Your picture will show you in a time of your life when you felt that life was grand regardless of size or appearance.

How does a blogger participate:  Each blogger who participates will do their own post on their own blogs about this contest.  You will leave a comment on this contest post with a link back to your post about the contest.   In the post you will put up your picture and explain why you felt great about yourself and your life.  A link to this contest post  from your blog would be appreciated.

How does a non-blogger participate:  If you don’t have a blog, you can participate by leaving a comment telling me that you want to participate but that you don’t have a blog (Make sure you input your email when you post the comment so I can email you back when it goes to moderation).  Then, we can hook up and I will do one big post with all of your pics in it with the captions that you give me.

How is the winner determined:  I will determine the winner by using a random numbers generator.  Your number will be the chronological number of your comment.

What does the winner get:  The winner will get a run4change T-shirt that says, “I can see it in your eyes, do you see it in mine”  This quote is based on the popular post with the same title.  After the winner is decided, I will get their address and size, get the shirt made, and send it to them.

How long will the contest last for:  The contest will last from 2/11/2009 to 2/27/2009.  That is a little over one week from the time this post goes up.  During this time you will need to read this post, build your own post with pic or email me your pic if you don’t have a blog, and comment on this post to leave a link back to your post.  Then I will figure out who the winner is and do a post on the winner by 3/2 or 3. I will need any non-blogger submission by 2/25 so that I can try and post them all by the 2/27.

Recap:

  1. You read this post.
  2. You build your own post following the idea for this contest
  3. You come back and comment on this post leaving a link to your post.
  4. If you don’t have a blog, you leave a comment on this post telling me so and make sure you in-put your email when commenting.
  5. You visit and check out everybody’s links in the comment section
  6. I generate a winner
  7. The winner gets a cool shirt.

I have one question for you my friend. Is there a certain length in words that the post has to be?
looking forward to getting the T-shirt 🙂 Nothing like a positive attitude, right? 🙂

I think this is a fabulous idea. So many times when we are trying to lose weight or improve ourselves we (I’m guessing we, but should probably say I here) focus only on the things we see as wrong with ourselves. When I look at pictures of myself, so often I see only the things that are wrong. I’m looking forward to going through my photos and looking at them with a focus on the positive. I bet that I will find that I’ve felt amazing a lot more often than I would have thought!

J – I wanted to leave a comment at Smiles by Sam’s blog, but it would only allow comments by WordPress followers. Would you relay to hear how much I enjoyed her entry and that she has a beautiful family? Thanks!

Lter4ever ~ Thanks for your comment here. Jason, thanks for posting it…
I am still pretty new to the world of “blog” ~ so am not sure if I have a setting that only allows WordPress peeps to make a comment, I will check into that. Have a great day. Smile, SAM

Hey there Sam. All you have to do if you want to change the setting is this. Go to the settings tab inside your dashboard, then click on the discussion, the mark the comment must put email and name instead of must be logged in.

Also, I’m not sure if you keep up with our blog or not, but my husband just completed his first marathon in Austin, TX this past weekend (he’s the one that got the shout-out for having lost 50-lbs not too long ago)!

I have a website, but not a blog. I can easily build a page with my submission and link to it here, or I can do the email thing, your choice. 🙂
