Eat and sleep. Eat and sleep. Eat and sleep.

So goes the cycle of my days.  I get home, I eat, and then I sleep.  Last night I added a cycle to it.  I got home, I ate, I slept, I got up at 12 am, I ate, I got up at 2am, I ate, and the I got up at 4 to go to work.   Not sure why I was up in the midnight hours eating but I am pretty sure it was not that I was hungry.  I am thinking I was thirsty but I am not sure.

Other than that my eating and exercise went really good yesterday.  I even got to have a Venti, Skinny Vanilla Latte from Starbucks (4.5 pts.)  It was great.  I love them.  I counted it and it brought me down to 8 points left over for dinner but I made due without problem.  I ate some tilapia, noodles, veggies, 3 sugar-free Popsicle’s, a one point popcorn and a pudding.  That was actually 9 points so I went over one.

I did my second tempo run yesterday too.  This is where I easy for a mile, then I run at 10K pace for 2.5 miles, and then I slow it down for .5 miles to the finish.  What a great run it was too.  Very windy but i kept up the pace as designed.  I was so proud of that run.

Here I am (# 278)  finishing my 1st Strolling Jim 40 miler.  7 hours and 42 minutes

I’ve had days like that where I can’t sleep so I think maybe I’m hungry. You’re probably right about being thirsty. Have you tried drinking a cup of skim milk? That usually helps out.

Oh yeah…low point sweet tip. 1 cup skim milk, 1 packet of splenda, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla(more or less depending on how vanilla-ish you’re feeling). Stir together. Makes a tasty, easy drink. Also good with a banana on the side.

Kind of funny because I experienced the same thing this past night. I got up twice during my “night” and of course ate. The first time it was an apple, the second time some wheat crackers and salsa. I was good because I had some leftover points to use just in case something like that were to happen. I know it’s probably not good to save points, but yet again I could not get all my points in for the day. This time I had 5 points left. So your not alone it what happened. Next time I might try the above suggestion. I drink a lot during the day so I didn’t fell i was thirsty. I just took it has a hint that my body was telling me that I didn’t eat well enough throughout the previous day. So when you ate, was it some healthy?
By the way nice picture. I bet that bring back some good memories. You must have felt so proud of yourself at that point in time. Plus all the green. It’s something you don’t see a lot of here. 🙂

Rob- One time I ate a yogurt and the next time I ate a pudding. I counted these. I also ate three Ritz crackers that I did not count. I love Rits. Creamy buttery yummyness.

Did you get your Venti Skinny Vanilla latte from starbucks? The reason I ask is that this morning I got a Venti Skinny Caramel latte and it was only 3pts- so I’m assuming SF syrups are all the same 🙂 NI= 160/0/0 just thought I’d check in case you were overestimating!

Jason, that’s how my “midnight incidents” started. I was at my thinnest and wasn’t eating enough to sustain my activity, so I woke in the middle of the night to eat because I was genuinely hungry. Then it became an addicting habit and I couldn’t sleep. I battled this for 2, almost 3 years!!! I haven’t had many incidents as of late, but the awful pattern was hard to break. I hope for you this is just a blip on the radar!! It sucks when it’s a habit like it was for me.

Parth- I order a skinny latte. These use non-fat milk, sugar-free syrup, and coffee. Very low cal actually. Well, as low cal as non-fat milk is.
