I have made some progress in the fire pit area. I am very happy to say that the giant stone table was moved yesterday. I got home and I ran over to the fire pit area like a little kid to see what had happened while I was gone at work. Ahhh yeah!! The table was in it’s new location. I don’t know how they moved it but I am sure glad I wasn’t there. That sucker was heavy. So here are the progress pics of the area.

This is the before pic. of my fire pit area

This is the result of our failed effort to move the table without a machine

You can see the stone table is now on the right. Wooo hooo!

This a horrible pic, but my camera ran out of batteries. I finished the stone wall and fire pit patio excavation at 9 pm last night.
Please know that I mean this in a kind way. 🙂 You are extreme! Most of the men I know (including my wonderful father and he LOVES yardwork/landscape projects) would wait until the weekend or at least daylight to start a project like yours. Not you though! Betcha bought that flood light specifically for late night projects OR it was a much coveted Christmas gift.
Your wall looks great! Perfect spot to perch as you roast marshmallows and hot dogs.
THat’s right Amy. I am extreme. It is both my blessing and my down fall at the same time. I bought those lights when I was working until like 10:30 at night everyday after work for a week to get the my main flagstone path finished. I wanted to get it done while my wife was gone and before she got back. I thought someone might mention the fact that I had lights up for the work. HAHAHA No offense taken at all though. Thanks for telling me that it looks great. I always feel that my projects look bad and unclean and unprofessional.
Are you serious? I’ve been thinking that your projects look like a pro did it!
Honestly Jason, I think maybe you don’t have ‘fat brain’ but perfectionist brain because you’re so hard on yourself. 🙂
And about the lights – we give tools for Christmas in our family. That’s what made me mention it. We love gifts like that!! My sister and I are both single so we have to fend for ourselves when it comes to minor home repairs. We receive power drills, digital levels, stud finders, etc…
You are most certainly right about the perfectionistic brain. Do you know how hard it is to stack rubble when you are a perfectionist. HAHAHA Freakin built it twice and tore it all down and finally felt pretty good about it on the third try. HAHAHA
Guess who is baaaccccckkkk!!! Yep, it’s me 😉 Feeling better and stronger and now time for me to get to work as well. What an inspiration you are to all of us. I have to say the work that you are doing is great and looks so awesome. I wish I had the yard to be able to do something of that nature. The fire pit will sure be a center piece to your whole yard and one that you’ll be able to enjoy with your loving family and friends.
I could go on and on about this but i think you get the point. It looks wonderful, dude!
By the way I do hope that your WW WI goes well for you tonight. I am sure it will.
thanks Rob. I hope my WI goes well too and I appreciate your kind words about my yard.
Dude, you are a machine!!!! I cannot believe what you get done in a day!!!
Thanks Kim. I can’t either sometimes. Guess that is why I never have time. HAHAHAHA 🙂
All this talk of landscape has me dreaming landscape plans, sprinkler systems, and new tools all night long. And I thought I had trouble sleeping before 🙂
I seriously need to kidnap you when yours is done and put you to work at my house. So — how many acres is your place?
I am dreaming about the stuff too.
You are a crazy man. It’s crazy how much you get done. I wish I had as much drive as you. Everything looks wonderful. I LOVE the wall. Keep us posted. How did your WI go?
WI went good. I will post about it in a little while
I forgot to mention that when my dad did a rock wall like that he said it drove him crazy and he kept standing back and being frustrated by how it looked and that my stepmom finally told him, “enough is enough. You are done.”
THat is what I had to tell myself in the end too. Now last night I built the fire pit. I don’t know how it freakin happend but I dug a 5 foot wide hole and it ended up only being 2 feet wide. Sh.. Now I am going to have to dig it all up and start over. My wife didn’t like it anyway so I guess I will start over.
