So many of us say so many things.  You know, I just heard some of the most cutting words that I can imagine.  It hurt a lot and words speak much of a persons heart.  I choose to use my words to build up.  I choose to think before I speak and maybe let a little quietness be within me.  A dear friend told me something years ago as an encouragement to me because I am generally a quiet person.  I was feeling bad because I was quiet but what he said moved me and I remember it well.  He said that when you are quiet and are willing to listen, you leave the room knowing what they know and knowing what you know too. So as I stayed quiet for only a moment as experienced those words tonight, I left the room knowing another persons heart and knowing mine as well.

“be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry”…<–sounds a lot like your post.

Your friend’s words are very wise! I’m so sorry that someone hurt you. Some people don’t understand how hurtful words can be!

You have a great attitude. Well done for being the bigger person. You are going to do awesome in your race. You have trained and will attempt something that 99% of the population will never do. You are an inspiration to so many people. Thanks for being you. Good luck on your race.

Hi! Remember yesterday i was afraid that i said some things that hurt your feelings? You assured me that it didn’t, so i am hoping that this is not directed at me. I really hope that you would let me know if i crossed a line with you or if i said something hurtful. It would NEVER be my intention to squish your feelings – i think the world of you!!

There is no one like you, Jason. If this had a like button, I would give it a big thumbs up!
