    Jason,
Thanks for the inspiriation. I am going to link you to my website. I dont have too much weight to lose… but I know it is going to be a struggle. I had a baby in July and I then got cardiomyopathy and I am unable to be as active as I once was. I hope you do keep checking up on me. My goal is to lose about 20 lbs and be able to get back into my clothing I wore in 2005 before I got married. You look FANTASTIC! Keep up the good work Jason.

How inspiring! I am on my own WW journey. To date I lost 85 pounds in just under a year and have about 15 to get to goal. It is so nice to see others that have accomplished so much with WW as well. Keep up the life changing journey! It makes me proud for you.

It is great. My wife is so good though, she loved me then and she loves me now. She told me I was good looking then too, but now she does admit that I am better looking than when I was big. It is not offensive though since I also see that as being pretty obvious. At least I feel better about how I look now.

    WOW!
    WOW!!
    WOW!!!!
    This is unbelievable!!!
Unlike alot of people who visit your site….I have only around 30 pounds to lose yet it has been a battle for me for years…..I lose it and gain it….lose it and gain it….etc…etc…etc…….
    This is powerful….you look amazing!!!!
How have you manged to stay trim and fit…..is it still a struggle??
    Once again….you look WOW!!!!

      January 10, 2009 at 11:14 am

Yes it is still a struggle. I am pretty good at just following a plan. That part is not the biggest struggle for me. THe biggest struggle for me is just the simple thing in my mind that I love food. I love to over eat. I like junk food. I stick with it becuase I am worth it, you are worth it, we are all worth. ANd it does not matter how many lbs you want or need to lose. The battle is the same. A pound is a pound. Keep coming around and the readers will encourage the heck out of you and we can all walk this walk together. Thanks for stopping by.

Warning! Extremely Important Reality Statement Ahead!!!!!!!! Ok, we all walk, run, exercise, eat healthy, control portions, make good food choices, and stick to our program solely for health purposes that our DR. told us we needed to take care. We don’t care about anything else.

🙂 NOT. WE WANT TO LOOK “HOT” AND FIT INTO THOSE DANG CLOTHES THAT MAKE US LOOK GREAT. SKINNY JEANS YOU LADIES CALL IT. Lets face it. We do honorable things for our health and bodies by changing our lives. But we all wouldn’t mind be called “HOT”.:)

Thank you very much Colette, a very encouraging compliment. Much appreciated. Thanks for the comment. 🙂

  34. January 12, 2009 at 7:07 pm

Whoa!!! That is incredible. I have to agree with the person who said you were HOT!. How long did it take you to lose all the weight?

Looks like you got it down pat! Do you have any particular hints for a guy that doesn’t run very well, and has a super busy schedule between college, work, wife, kids, and Military Reserve work?

    • 73 run4change
      January 15, 2009 at 6:21 am

Do you mean that you don’t run or don’t want to when you say “doesn’t run very well”? Any exercise will suffice although I favor running of course since it did so much for me. I am also busy. I work 6 days a week from 4:30 am to 5:00pm. That is a lot of time, but I just fit it in. No kids yet so that is a big difference between you and me. I hope to bring mine with me in one of those jogging strollers. If you have no time, the high intensity work outs that are short will do the best for you. I am an extreme person so I tend to forget everything else in the world when it comes time to run. I just make the time. It is not easy though and I get pissed off sometimes because of the feeling of the time pinch. Thanks visiting and contributing with your great comment.

Change is possible! My formula for success was similar to yours: WW, running, and a tirelessly supportive spouse. Thanks for your kind comments on my blog; I’m off to add a link to run4change. 41. January 15, 2009 at 9:46 pm

I’m so glad I found your website! I just started reading it having read your post on the maintenance board. So nice to have yet another successful maintainer to look up to.

I was a couch potato and overweight most of my life, and my biggest surprise about losing weight is how much I love to run, which I had never done before. Right now, I just do 3-5 mile runs 2 or 3 times a week, but I think I will start training for a half marathon in Vancouver in May. Maybe some day I will see you in a marathon!

Thanks for putting in all the work on this site. I’m just eating it up now. 🙂

I know this journey of mine will be a long one, and it is individuals like you who keep me focused on my goal…because you have reached it before me and are there, cheering me on. You should be so proud of yourself. I am going to bookmark your page so I can continue to come back for some motivation when I need it. I just started (again) a few days ago and my kids (4 of them) are great motivators right now. My husband and I embarked on our weight loss journeys about 14 months ago, since then my husband has lost over 100 pounds while I’ve lost about 50 (I go back and forth between 40 and 50 pounds lost). It’s been frustrating to not have the weight melt off of me as it has for my husband, but I am so proud of his accomplishment and happy to see his new-found confidence. Congratulations to you on your amazing transformation!

Thanks Mimi. It is often the case the males lose faster than females. I really am not sure why this is but don’t get too discouraged. You can get the weight off just like he did. And remember it is not a competition. Although you started the journey together, you both have your own journies too.

Hey great job!!!!! I did not take up running to lose weight but rather get into shape. I have some leg issues and oh lord does it hurt to run!!!!Viewing other peoples progress and pictures helps me to stay motivated. Keep up the great work!

You look amazing. I find your story to be extremely inspiring, and I think you are a beautiful person – inside and out. You are incredibly strong!! I can very much relate to the “fat mind.” I have never been obese but a few pounds overweight at one time or another, and have a deep fear of experiencing that again. My fitness is a yo-yo, but stories like this help me stay committed. Thank you for sharing.
