Thank God for that. You don’t have to be perfect to lose weight. If that were the case, I never would have lost 130 lbs. If that were the case, I never would have even started. Last night I did great but I wasn’t perfect. This is fine, it was ok. I got home and ran for 35 minutes. After that I made a big thing of popcorn (5 points) and started doing some blogging. Oh yeah, I ate a lot of pickles too. I eat a lot of pickles. They are free (no points). My wife finally got home and she pulled here special blend of healthy nuts out of the pantry. I couldn’t resist. I ate some and did not count them. I guess I could count them today, but I did not count them last night for what they really were. I put like 4 points to them but I am sure they were more since nuts are pretty expensive points wise. Then she wanted to go running and it was dark so I went with her for another 30 minutes. Activity good, eating not perfect, the day was pretty successful. Tonight I go to my weigh-in. I am looking forward to it this time and I think that the result on the scale will be a minus or an even. I hope anyway.

AMEN ~ to the fact that we dont have to be perfect. I enjoy reading what you have to say….keep up the good work. I am going to be traveling today and tomorrow ~ am taking lots of healthy foods with me and can do my work out anywhere…Marcus gave me a “set” of things to do that just require enough space to do a full jumping jack ~ which is nice, especially when traveling. I will be eating with friends tonight, plan on eating a protein bar before dinner, so I should be “good”. Just say NO to chips/salsa ~ or BREAD….have a great day!

Keep up the good work and I am sure that you will do great in your travels.
Thank God we don’t have to be perfect . . . I guess sometimes being better than you were is all you can ask for!
Definitely. Before, I would have picked up a large pizza and a medium pizza on the way home. The large would be my dinner and my wife would snack on the medium and have some for lunch the next day. 🙂
Thank goodness for that — that’s been a major change for me — daily imperfect slogging along instead of bursts of trying for perfection and failing miserably. 🙂
ew yeah, I like how you put that. That’s what it is, daily walking on and on and on.
You’re soo right about being perfect to lose. I’ve had slip ups and back tracks, but seem to get it under control quickly so I’m not sloggin on the pounds. A little activity and some cutting back on dumb foods and the weight comes off again.
Amen to that man. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on this post.
You’re so right. I love it!
Thanks
You just made me realize: if everyone was perfect, we would have nothing to blog about lol
Good post 🙂
Isn’t that the truth. 🙂
That’s one thing I’ve learned – nobody is perfect – so don’t beat yourself up when you eat a little too much, or exercise too little. Just pick up where you left off and do better the next day!
Keep on keeping on I like to say. Thanks for the comment and encouragement
I think if you are on track 90% of the time then you are doing great.
THanks for the comment and encouragement
Good post. Perfectionism rears it’s ugly head in so many places and ways. If you succumb to it, perfectionism can be debilitating. Plus we have to be forgiving of ourselves.
Lose That Sixth Grader
So true so true. Great insight.
Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog. I almost weighed as much as you when I started weight watchers. My starting weight was 306.2 and my goal is to lose 130 pounds, so I can weigh in at 175. I’m so excited to read your blog more. I think it is my new favorite blog. You are an excellent writer and I look forward to reading more.
How did your weigh in go? I hope well.
Just curious, how did you find my blog? Keep sending encouragement my way. I need all I can get.
Take care,
Melissa
Its a good thing for me about not being perfect to lose weight. Every day I wake up with the intention of being perfect but as we all know it usually doesn’t happen. On most days I’ll settle for near perferct.
HA, great post. Near perfect. Amen to that. Now that works.
Hey,
Just wanted to let you know that I added you to my bloglines and will be posting about you soon.
Take care,
MElissa

Why thank you very much. I am honored and encouraged.
The reason I have never succeeded at losing weight is because I felt I needed to be perfect. If I’d slip up, I’d give up. That’s obviously not a good way to succeed. And this evening I’m having a personal battle with just how perfect I need to be about this… so I greatly appreciate this post! (Hopefully it will inspire me to make the best possible choices.)
Keep it up. Just try and remember (I know it’s hard) that even if you mess up you don’t have to throw in the towel.
